01

Organizations, not individual accounts

Companies and educational institutions must use the number registered to their legal entity. Apple does not accept a DBA, trade name or branch as the organization entering its agreement. Government organizations are not required to provide DUNS.

Individuals do not need a number. A sole proprietor having DUNS does not automatically make the business an Apple-accepted legal entity; Apple directs single-person businesses to individual enrollment where applicable.

02

Match D&B exactly

Use the legal name, entity type and address shown by D&B. After a new assignment, Apple says to allow up to two business days for the data to arrive. The same delay applies after a profile update.

If Apple says the organization is not a legal entity, fix the source record with D&B and have complete registration documents ready. Re-entering a different spelling in Apple will not change D&B.
